Process
Step
1: Research both tap water and bottled water. You can do
this by using the websites below.
These are bottled water sites:
International
Bottled Water Association--This site gives great information about
bottled water, and can give information about the nutrients and minerals
that are abundant or lack in bottled water.
International
Bottled Water Association--Same organization, but this site answers
many questions about bottled water versus tap water, and which one it thinks
is better.
Children's
Teeth--This site describe some possible consequences with drinking
bottled water.
These
are tap water sites:
Bottled
Water "a waste of money" --This site is from a BBC news article in
Europe that states that tap water is much better than bottled water.
Fresh
Water Systems--This site thinks that tap water is much better than
bottled water.
Bottle
vs Tap Water --This site discusses the differences and similarities
of bottled and tap water.
Office
of Water--This site explains about all types of tap water, and what
minerals or nutrients can be found in your local drinking water.
These are websites that discuss the advantages and disadvantages of both
bottled water and tap water:
National
Resources Defense Council--This page of the NRDC is entitled "Bottled
Water: Pure Drink or Pure Hype?" This organization did a lot
of research on this subject, and tested both tap and bottled water.
It has great and interesting content.
Manitoba
Water Services Board--This website argues that through research and
experiments, it is clearly shown that both bottled water and tap water
are the same, and neither is better than the other.
US
Environmental Protection Agency--This website is a great place to find
whatever you need on water. It describes the different kinds of water,
and explains federal laws that protect the water, and what contaminants
can be found in water.
World
Wildlife Federation--The WWF explains how bottled water use has increased
as the purity of river waters has decreased. This webpage can also
access many other pages within the WWF website that explain about water,
and the contimenants of water, and how the government tries to protect
the water.
Step
2: Write a 3-5 page paper on your findings, and what you think
the President should drink. Take in consideration the cost, taste,
and appeal of what kind of water you choose. Document your resources
of which helped make your decision.
Step
3: Present your decision. Make a clear, concise presentation
on what you think is the best type of water for the President to drink.
